Gosh, it’s been a while!
Sympathetic visitors will interpret this as I’m so busy doing interesting things that I don’t have time to post. The rest will assume negligence of one type or another. Everyone is right to a certain extent. This is one of the freelancer’s dilemmas — even when we’re not working, we have to be working in order to get that next job. On the other hand, if you’re scheduled out months in advance, it can be easy to neglect your “platforms” — blogs, websites, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. Just maintaining a presence on these sites feels like a full-time job sometimes (and I am not one to automate or outsource my presence, I’m too much of a control freak for that!).
I admire my colleagues who are able to keep their social media presence fresh while keeping their business going (or should that be reversed?). Even more impressive, some have turned their social media presence into a sideline business.
Where am I going with this? Nowhere, really. Just checking in.
